Instead, his energies would be spent striving for ways to reduce — rather than increase — societal immorality and government dependence-induced poverty that are the biggest driving factors of the barbaric practice of abortion.
How brutally barbaric is abortion? Watch this video-taped testimony of Anthony Levantino, a New Mexico doctor who performed over a thousand abortions:
I believe Mother Teresa was a mouthpiece for God when at the National Prayer Breakfast almost 20 years ago, in the presence of President Clinton and hundreds of government officials and politicians, she boldly proclaimed:
…The greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child — a direct killing of the innocent child — murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?
…By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems. And by abortion, the father is told that he does not have to take any responsibility at all for the child he has brought into the world.
Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching the people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. That is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion. [ref]
Abortion advocates cannot with any moral authority condemn killing. They cannot sincerely claim to favor peace, or to have charity for their fellow man. Such hypocritical claims and condemnations ring hollow.
“Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold,” Jesus told his disciples when they asked him what signs shall precede His Second Coming (Matthew 24:12).
What better example is there of the love of many waxing cold than the brutally violent, selfish practice of birth control abortions? Why do these abortions occur? Because iniquity, in the form of immorality, abounds in our society.
Meanwhile, as society continues to permit and even promote abortion, and to encourage the irresponsible and selfish attitudes and behaviors that lead to abortion, our peace is indeed being destroyed by violence and aberrant behavior, and we find ourselves living in perilous times as the Apostle Paul prophesied in his letter to Timothy:
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
