Al Gore Had an Agenda

You may have heard about the UK’s nursery rhyme-themed advertisements that were created and run by UK’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) under UK Energy Secretary Ed Miliband. The ads were targeted at children. One played off of the “three men in a tub” and warned of rising temperatures and sea levels (neither is the case), and a greater frequency and intensity of “extreme weather events such as storms, floods and heatwaves” (nope, not happening). The other parodied the story of Jack and Jill, telling how there was no water to fetch because of drought. [ref1, ref2]

Fortunately, Britain’s Advertising Standards Agency recognized the lies and scare tactics for what they were, and told the DECC to pull the ads. Too bad the DECC had already wasted lots of taxpayer dollars and expended valuable CO2 (oh, no, the sky is falling filling with CO2!) producing and publishing their pathetic propaganda.

But some good did come out of the whole debacle. It helped raise awareness of the lengths to which government organizations will go to spread the propaganda of climate change and thereby secure ongoing funding for their bloated, unnecessary bureaucracies. And it spurred a lot of people to come up with global warming poems and nursery rhyme parodies of their own.

Here is mine. It is to be sung to the tune of Mary Had a Little Lamb. Enjoy!

Al Gore had an agenda,
agenda, agenda,
Al Gore had an agenda,
vilifying CO2.
And everywhere that Al Gore went,
His lies went, his lies went,
And everywhere that Al Gore went,
He lied to me and you.

His lies were taught in school all day,
school all day, school all day,
His lies were taught in school all day,
His global warming gloom.
Brainwashed children learned to say,
learned to say, learned to say,
Brainwashed children learned to say,
CO2 would be our doom.

But when the earth didn’t warm,
didn’t warm, didn’t warm,
But when the earth didn’t warm,
Climate Change became the cry.
Now everything the climate does,
climate does, climate does,
Now everything the climate does
He blames on you and I.

Why does Al Gore love lies so?
Love lies so? Love lies so?
Why does Al Gore love lies so?
People want to know.
Because he loves money, you know,
Money, you know, Money, you know,
Because he loves money, you know,
The evidence does show.
